Otherwise known as Verbena, Vervain is a plant that’s been cherished throughout history for its scentless beauty and long list of health benefits. From anti-inflammatory to antibacterial, antipyretic, and antispasmodic, Vervain’s medicinal use can be traced back to the 18th century, used by various civilisations worldwide including in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Today, Vervain is harvested during the spring and summer time, just before the flowers begin to open. From there, the roots are dried, processed and packed for your enjoyment, offering a deliciously intricate flavour profile of astringency and bitterness with bold undertones of lingering earthiness.
Ingredients: Organic Vervain.
Serving suggestion: Brew 1-2 teaspoons per cup of freshly boiled water (100°c). Steep for 3- 5 minutes as per personal preference.
